Customer Reviews: Great for 30 degrees or aboveMarch 3, 2010 Andy D. Talbert This rod is great for perch or smelt fishing in Vermont. If the weather is below 30 degrees it is better to use it in a shanty or ice will build up on the eyes. I guess that would be the case with any rod.
